About this place
Can’t decide between salt and soy sauce? The half-and-half plate lets you try both. The menu also includes beef tongue seasoned with salt and beef tongue seasoned with soy sauce, as well as the combination plate for comparing the two.
For a more substantial meal, there’s a beef tongue set with barley rice and grated yam, or a similar set made with aged centre-cut beef tongue. One diner recalled enjoying beef tongue with barley rice, a small side dish and soup at lunch, adding yuzu miso as they ate. Another said they poured grated yam over the barley rice and enjoyed it towards the end of the meal. These sets are a good choice if you want accompaniments as well as beef tongue.
For something different from grilled beef tongue, the menu also features hot-pot-style tongue stew and beef tongue tendon stewed with garlic miso. One diner who tried a stew set reported that the thick-cut beef tongue had been cooked until tender, and enjoyed the broth as well. The tendon stew is another option if you’d like to add a side dish. Beef tongue remains the focus, with different preparations to choose from.
There are counter seats, and the restaurant is presented as a suitable choice for solo diners. Located on the 8 floor of Yodobashi Akiba, it may also be convenient for a beef tongue set meal before or after shopping.
